It's World Menopause Day!
Let's all Flash Around
Incase You Want to Jump Around:
Happy World Menopause Day!
Thank you Oprah!
Thank you Halle!
Because famous women are now openly speaking about their menopause experiences, the Natural Grocers chain had a centerfold primer on Peri-Menopause in their May Health Hotline!
I also saw something from Herb Pharm, who had a pop up about menopause on their home page. It was an invitation to "build your bundle" with a link to an article about Leann Rimes' menopause journey.
Something that our mothers never talked about; and some still won’t; has actually become the recent cause celebre. Which is fantastic!
So, Happy World Menopause Day!
Yep. We have our very own Hormone Holiday. Sort of.
Menopause is now being mentioned just about everywhere you look. Yet, we still barely talk about it and most women still know next to nothing about it.
However... All that celebrity attention still means more general awareness. Which also means more information. More options. More people trying to understand what women are going through in this time of life. Which means, ultimately, more women understanding that they are Not going crazy and they are Not sick!
Yes, until very recently (and still, in some places) women were institutionalized for going through the varying stages of Menopause. The term "hysteria" is all about women's hormone fluctuations!
Even now women are being given diagnoses and drugs that have nothing to do with what's going on in their bodies, by doctors that know nothing about The Change.
But, The Change is a changin!
And though not all information out there is correct, even the information that is might not be exactly correct for you.
Our bodies go through peri-menopause and menopause differently. For many different reasons.
So, remember. If you really want to know where you're at and what you can do about it, a menopause focused Naturopath and a Dutch Test are my personal recommendations.
And a good Para-Menopause Coach too... of course.
Go Team Menopause!!
So, you think you can handle all the ins and outs of hormonal changes. No problem.
You got this!
But what if you don't?
What if you go to see your trusted doctor and they tell you your menopause symptoms are something else?
What if every time you thought you had everything dialed in, to where you feel amazing, your hormones shift on you and it suddenly is Not... again?
These things happen.
Often.
Feeling overwhelmed happens. Sometimes in the span of a few minutes in an otherwise dialed in day.
A lot of things happen, sometimes very unexpectedly, when your hormones start to shift and sway. And they sometimes keep happening even after they are all supposed to have gone away.
So... This is where Team Menopause comes in.
Even though it sounds like it might be the name of a women's bowling team, Team Menopause is actually the support system you have, ready to be there for you when you hit That part of your life.
It's your doctors, and friends. It's your family and workmates. It's your life partners, and your life coaches.
Team Menopause is all the people who know what you're going through, and know how to help you get through it. Whatever IT is. In the best way possible; for You.
It's your support system.
It's sometimes your lifeline.
So, who’s on Your Team Menopause?
*Drop a reply to this email (or leave a comment on the blog) to let me know who actually is on your Team Menopause.
Or, who you think is missing from your team… Like, maybe, Oprah?
If I didn’t already say it enough:
Happy World Menopause Day!
Now… If you’ll allow me to jump in at the end of this little celebration of our Special Day… I’d like to ask you all a little favor.
As I close in on getting my tech stacked (yeah... I'm working on a website and some community options and a place to find some course stuff and a whole bunch of exciting yet time intensive to set up things...):
Would you please be so kind as to share this newsletter with everyone you know; and especially to encourage your friends, in all the stages of menopause, to subscribe?
Thank You!! ❤️
You're the Best!
I genuinely hope you're doing well, and remember you can always reply to this newsletter if you have any questions or comments.
